For over 50 years, the Tawingo Outdoor Centre has provided the very best combination of learning and playing in the out-of-doors led by trained educators, in the beautiful setting of Muskoka.

Whether coming to the Outdoor Centre as a student, teacher, community member, conference delegate, or family, every Outdoor Centre visitor benefits from a unique, memorable, and meaningful experience. We offer exceptional Outdoor Education & Recreation opportunities throughout the year, with overnight stays in the Fall & Spring, and day visits from September to June.

 

Who comes to the Outdoor Centre?

  • School Groups: Elementary, High School, and Post Secondary

We offer a variety of programs for school groups of all ages and grades which directly link to school curriculum and emphasize team-building and leadership. Programs are designed to accommodate ages, group size, length of stay, and season. We welcome groups from both public and private school boards across the province.

  • Special Interest Groups: Adult & Youth

Our Conference-style facilities are available to groups of all sizes. On-site accommodations and meals make for easy planning and programming. We can help any group design the use of our facility to suit their needs.

Some of the many groups to benefit from the Tawingo Outdoor Centre: Rotary Youth Leadership, Canadian Olympic Association Academy, COEO/OCA, Children’s International Summer Village, music/band retreats, elite and recreational sports teams and associations, yoga retreats.

  • Family Weekends: All Ages

We offer two fun Family Weekends at Tawingo: one in the Spring, and one in the Fall. Parents, grandparents, and children can enjoy the site and the season together! Our weekend activities are family-centred, relaxed, and offer families a summer camp-like experience. Family weekends run Friday night to Sunday afternoon and include individual family cabins, meals, snacks, and program leadership.
