Pearce Williams Outdoor Education Facility
- Outdoor Education Centre
Pearce Williams offers Outdoor Education programs for schools and groups from Kindergarten through Grade 12. We provide day trips, overnight stays, and multi-day experiences that help students learn, grow, and connect with nature. Teachers and leaders can count on a safe, structured, and supportive environment where learning extends beyond classroom walls.
Programs and Activities
Students take part in nature hikes, survival skills, archery, team challenges, and low-ropes initiatives. We also offer campfires, storytelling, drama, and creative sessions that tie into curriculum goals. These activities teach cooperation, leadership, responsibility, and problem-solving.
Day Programs
Schools and groups can visit for a full day of programming led by trained staff. Day programs are popular for team-building, science classes, or outdoor adventure experiences.
Overnight Programs
Overnight programs include meals, lodging in cabins, evening campfires, and extended learning opportunities. Students gain more time to build friendships, reflect, and experience community living.
Multi-Day Programs
Multi-day programs offer the deepest impact, with extended lessons, greater challenges, and more time outdoors. Students explore nature through guided hikes, develop resilience through teamwork, and create lasting memories with their peers.
Facilities
We provide heated cabins, dining halls, meeting spaces, trails, campfire circles, sports fields, and green spaces. As an Ontario Camps Association–accredited facility, we maintain the highest safety standards.
Benefits for Students
Outdoor Education builds confidence, independence, and self-awareness. Students work with others, face challenges, and gain appreciation for the natural world. Teachers often see students return more focused, cooperative, and motivated.
Benefits for Teachers and Schools
Teachers get structured programs that align with curriculum goals. Our staff lead instruction and group management, giving teachers space to observe students and connect the experience back to school learning. Programs are customizable to fit specific needs.
Who We Serve
We welcome public and private schools, homeschool groups, church groups, youth organizations, and community programs. Flexible scheduling makes Outdoor Education accessible throughout the school year.
