Pathfinder Outdoor Education Institute
- Outdoor Education Centre
The Outdoor Education Inst. at Camp Pathfinder, est. 1914, provides an enriching residential OE experience on historic Pathfinder Island in the heart of world-famous Algonquin Provincial Park. From the island’s 17-acre low carbon-footprint campus, participants explore the Park and learn new skills in partnership with their faculty chaperones and a professional Pathfinder guide staff of men and women skilled in a variety of outdoor disciplines.
Our specialty is hands-on experiences and north woods living with groups from 18 – 100 students in grades 5 – 8 and 10 – 12. The program is co-ed and is staffed with male and female guides and instructors.
The accommodations are simple and comfortable, in the Algonquin tradition. The homemade food from our in-house chef staff is amazing, something we happily boast about. Our facilities and equipment are top-flight. Guide staff are mature professionals, certified in canoeing and moving water, canoe trip leadership, lifesaving, wilderness water safety and wilderness first responder.
