CGIT Camp Kalalla

Since 1949, Camp Kalalla has provided empowering experiences for girls and young women (ages 7-16) through a traditional camp program. Kalalla grows skills and self-confidence in our campers, builds lifelong friendships, and creates fun, laughter, and magical moments at our beautiful 100-acre camp in the Gatineau hills.

The program offers girls the opportunity to develop new skills under positive and encouraging supervision. We strive to help each girl increase her self-confidence and self-esteem through participation in small group and all-camp programming. We aim to offer campers (and staff!) the opportunity to re-connect with nature, themselves, and each other.

Activities include: swimming, kayaking, canoeing, crafts, hiking, campfires, overnights, Discovery Time (facilitated group discussions), art, crafts, evening Vespers, cookouts, canoe excursions, crazy theme days, and a Square Dance!

Over the years, we have developed a Leader-in-Training program of which we are very proud. With time spent on understanding the ideas behind good leadership, and then practising applying those ideas with supervision, we aim to help young women develop self-reflection, a deeper understanding of their own gifts and abilities, and the confidence in themselves to offer those gifts and abilities in leadership in a variety of settings.

Camp Kalalla welcomes people of all faiths, and no faith, while having its roots in the christian faith.

This year, Camp Kalalla offers a week-long overnight camp.
