An Update On Measles – Lunch and Learn (OCA Members Only)

The measles outbreak in Ontario (greater than 1,000 cases) poses a concern to Public Health officials in Ontario. Thanks to our ongoing collaboration with health authorities since the COVID-19 pandemic, our discussions have continued recently with a focus on the measles outbreak. The goal of this Lunch & Learn session is to give OCA members a chance to learn more about the measles outbreak and what the implications may be for our summer operations. Some specific topics will include:
- Status of the measles outbreak in Ontario: current status & predictions for the summer,
- Public Health’s public messaging as summer approaches,
- Public Health protocols for cases of measles at camps/outdoor education centres,
- How best to develop policies and communication strategies that align with the goals of public health and the unique characteristics of your stakeholders.
We welcome Dr. Daniel Warshafsky, Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health, Ministry of Health, who has generously agreed to be part of our Lunch & Learn session.
