YMCA of Northeastern Ontario: John Island Camp

YMCA John Island Camp is the summer camp and residential Outdoor Education Centre of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario. We are located near the town of Spanish, Ontario Canada.
Programs range in length from 1 to 7 weeks and offer campers a unique off the grid wilderness experience with a focus on traditional summer camp programs as well as canoe tripping in Lake Huron as well as surrounding waterways along the North Shore and Elliot Lake. Leadership programs offer campers the chance to experience extended canoe trips in locations such as Killarney, French River, Missinaibi and more!
As a traditional Summer Kids camp, YMCA John Island Camp offers an array of popular camp activities, nestled within our 278 acre site. Land activities include High Ropes, Climbing Wall, Low Ropes, Archery, Hiking, Camp Fires, Initiatives and Arts and Crafts. Along our 600m sand beach waterfront, John Island offers Kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing, Windsurfing, and Swimming.
