Olympia’s Outdoor Center serves a variety of clients from school groups to sports teams and corporate groups. Role Summary

This leadership role is responsible for the daily operations of staff and programming. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for Outdoor Education. As a key member of our leadership team, this person will ensure the quality and safety of all programs, provide direct coaching and mentorship to staff, and act as a host for special groups and clients. This role also involves managing day-to-day staff issues, coordinating training, planning staff events, and overseeing the on-site residence. 

Key Responsibilities

• Set an example of how to be an excellent Outdoor Education Instructor at Olympia
• Exemplify and uphold Olympia’s core values of safety, teamwork, and respect at all times
• Create a positive and uplifting environment for all staff 
• Build relationships with all clients and communicate clearly with them 
• Staff Management 
• Assist with initial and on-going staff training & coordinate with area-heads 

Contract Dates: 

Start Date: Monday August 24, 2026 (Training Week Begins) 

End Date: Tuesday October 20, 2026

Qualifications

Required:

• Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C 
• Clean Police Record Check 
• Ability to lead a team 
• Ability to work long hours 
• Experience working with youth in a camp setting 
• Strong communication & customer service skills 

Preferred:

• National Lifeguard 
• Pleasure Craft Operator Craft 
• Experience working with ropes & challenge course
• G Licence and a clean driving record 
• ORCKA or Paddle Canada Certifications
• ACCT Level 2 Certification   
• Experience with Google Workspace
