As Executive Director of the Ontario Camp Association (OCA), she’s streamlined operations, boosted community engagement, and fostered a culture of inclusivity. Her leadership was pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she helped guide the OCA through unprecedented challenges, serving as a trusted resource to the Board and key committees. Most recently, Joy is working with the Board and the Membership on the OCA’s New Horizons strategic plan to shape a bright future.

Rose Attard (she/her)

Membership Director

Rose Attard is our Membership Director. Rose brings a broad background of experiences to the OCA, including roles such as the Associate Director at Camp Walden for many years, and most recently she held the position of Volunteer & Office Manager at Habitat for Humanity. Rose is looking forward to helping OCA Members create healthy, happy, and safer experiences for campers, participants and through her work on OCA’s Standards and Membership!

Rose attended Fleming College where she completed her Business Administration Marketing Diploma and Algonquin College where she completed her Baking and Pastry Techniques Certification. Baking was what led her to the summer camp industry 20+ summers ago, feeding 800 campers and staff fresh baked goods daily, and managing out-tripping menus and food inventory.

Never a camper herself, Rose dove into the camp industry feet first; working with school boards to create a safe space for teachers to take their classrooms outside. She developed programs to help day camp campers move into overnight camp experiences, helped brides get the picture-perfect wedding they imagined, and encouraged tech gurus to trust the process of disconnecting to reconnect during an off-the-grid tech conference. Her greatest accomplishment is becoming a camp mom: Watching her son grow up at overnight camp and taking the leap to become a camper himself has brought her so much pride and happiness.

In her free time, you can find Rose with her nose in a book (preferably cookbooks), her hands making pasta with her son Milo, and her heart advocating for Men’s Mental Health, Suicide Awareness, and Prevention.

Lea Randall (she/her)

Marketing & Events Manager

Lea Randall is our  Marketing & Events Manager. Lea brings her experience in marketing and social media to continue growing OCA’s communications and to support the logistics of various OCA events. Lea comes from a background in business-to-business and nonprofit industries, which allowed her to develop strong relationships with stakeholders and exercise her creative thinking!

Lea attended McMaster University where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Humber College where she received a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations.

Lea spent her summers as a child at the community pool, before becoming a lifeguard and supervising many camp swims. Lea also completed all three levels of her Duke of Edinburgh Award, spending time hiking the Bruce Trail and canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park as part of the award process. She is excited to bring her love of all things swim and outdoors to her role at OCA!

In her free time, you can find Lea with her nose in a book or with her eyes glued to the TV watching Formula 1 and figure skating. Lea enjoys trying new foods and finding the best ice cream in town.
