PaddleFoot
- Camp
PaddleFoot was founded in 1996 by a group of individuals with a passion for travelling into the far reaches of Canada’s far-off spaces. PaddleFoot seeks to provide a place where individuality complements community, and a wilderness journey always provides the ideal setting. Instead of a “traditional” Camp-based program, PaddleFoot offers custom private programs catered specifically to you and your group, family or team. Specializing in remote white-water canoe expeditions on Canada’s Great Rivers, we also offer canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, rock-climbing and other combinations of adventure and fun!
With the highest of safety measures, Paddlefoot has helped to set the standard in Canada; our expert leaders are talented individuals who add unique character to your experience. Besides their wealth of qualifications, PaddleFoot guides are chosen for their tireless dedication, compassion, humour, passion, and the desire to share knowledge. They are experienced in meeting the needs of people new to wilderness living, and expert enough to challenge the most experienced adventurer.
Our high-end state-of-the-art equipment and gear compliment the back-to-basics life perfectly. Though isolated from urban modern life, the latests technology is in our “back-pockets” in the event that it’s needed. Things like satellite based communications and GPS devices allow us to trouble-shoot in the face of extreme challenges or problems.
Our Basecamp, located in Muskoka, Ontario, serves as a starting point for many of our programs. This 100 acre forested oasis is off the beaten path, and offers the ideal planning, training and preparations spot.
Since our humble beginnings in the 1990’s, PaddleFoot has acknowledged and demonstrated a deep respect for the Indigenous Peoples in Canada, the knowledge their people and ancestors have shared, and their deep-rooted connections with the land in which we live and travel. To all those who have journeyed through this great wilderness before us, and to those who have been the stewards of these lands we also cherish, we extend our gratitude and respect. Through our endeavours in in this precious space, we aim to strengthen our connections with these lands and all the lives cradled within, so that we may play our role in building a future with equity, opportunity and peace where it has not been so in the past.
Our Camp is for those seeking an exclusive experience with an inclusive approach. We offer the perfect blend of relaxation and reflection mixed with high adventure and positive risk-taking. More than simply a way to pass your summer, PaddleFoot strives to make a positive difference to your home-base, our Canadian collective, and the global community. Our Programs bring about personal growth and broadened views; from urban green spaces to territories that roads don’t reach, we engage our “trippers” to explore the natural world, and the spectrum of amazing adventures that Canada has to offer.
