Big Canoe: United Church

Bring your family, friends, business or school to Camp Big Canoe for fun, training or work. Our gorgeous property includes a private lake and rustic accommodations in the heart of Muskoka. The lodge has a beautiful stone fireplace, commercial kitchen and deck overlooking the lake.

The main lodge can accommodate approximately 130 people for dining, cabins 25 and tents the balance. Groups typically provide their own food and cook for themselves.

Mid – May and June we are available for all types of rentals including school groups. There are a couple of days in the summer that would be available and September and early October are also available.

School groups: you are welcome at Camp Big Canoe for day or overnight trips. Bring your own lunch for a day trip or opt to have it catered. Meals are provided for overnight school trips in May and June. In the spring, we have staff available to run a variety of programs. The program will be catered to the needs of your group and may include any of the following: music & drama, arts & crafts, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, campfire, archery, low ropes, team building, a variety of ball games including our very own roofball, hiking, campwide games, camp craft or environmental education.  During the fall, staff are not available and we will put you in touch with a caterer for your time at camp.

Weddings, friend getaways and family reunions can all be held at CBC. There are a variety of lovely locations for an intimate wedding ceremony including the chapel which overlooks the lake. Sleep late or wake up early and sit on the dock with your tea as you watch the sun rise over Hart lake. When you are feeling rejuvenated, hike around the lake, jump in a canoe or go for swim. End your day around a bonfire on the beach.
