Affiliate membership is for organizations that align with OCA’s values of safe, healthy, happy campers. Affiliate membership is open to organizations that do not operate a camp or summer programs and who desire access to camp information, resources, and OCA events. Please note that being an OCA Affiliate is not based on the OCA Accreditation Standards, nor will it lead to Accreditation; it is to provide organizations with access to OCA information and events.

Our website is focused on helping parents, campers, and potential staff find the camp or outdoor education program that is best for them. We share links on our site to direct parents to subsidies, and our site is a go-to location for media to find non-profits in the camp industry – and your organization!
We provide an OCA Affiliate logo for use on your website.
The OCA is here to support our Members. Collectively, our Board of Directors and wide network of camp industry professionals work with professional consultants including lobbyists, health experts, lawyers, policy advisors, social workers and more to provide OCA Members with up-to-date and accurate resources and support.
The OCA sends out a weekly e-newsletter, the OCA Weekly, to all OCA Members. Inside, it provides updates from the OCA, relevant news and resources, health updates, policy updates from the government, upcoming events, what’s happening on social media, and other information relevant to the camps industry.
The OCA team wants to make sure all our Members and our community are safe during the pandemic, and as such, we will be taking a measured and practical approach to OCA events.
OCA delivers a variety of educational workshops to provide professional development and networking opportunities to our Members. These events are delivered as either part of your membership, or at a discounted members-only rate, and have included events such as:
Affiliates are welcomed to participate (in a typical year) in our Affiliate Showcase, a great opportunity for visibility and engagement with our Members!
We are continuing to support our Members through Town Halls, Webinars, Think Tanks, Coffee Hours, and other virtual sessions on a variety of topics which have included:
OCA also connects its Members with relevant external professional development opportunities in the OCA Weekly.
The OCA provides Members with access to research by the Canadian Camping Association and the American Camp Association, providing data and trends that are important to the camps industry. The COVID-19 Task Force and OCA Board of Directors researched successful programs that ran in Summer 2020 to provide insight and direction for the 2021 season and beyond.
We also connect researchers to camps and outdoor education providers, and relevant organizations for their research.
