Wilderness Canoe Trippers
Camp Timberlane is a co-ed summer residential camp located in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. You can get a good idea of the activities and programs we offer by visiting our website (camptimberlane.ca). We have about 500 campers and 200 staff at any one time. Our staff training runs from June 23 until June 30 when the campers arrive. Camp ends on August 18.
Canoe tripping is a popular activity at Timberlane. You would be working with a team of around 8-10 wilderness canoe trippers. Campers begin tripping at age 11-12 and go until they are counselors in training (CIT). Our shorter trips are 2-night/3-day excursions and our longest is a 8-day trip to Temagami. Most of our canoe tripping is done in Algonquin Park, but we also send canoe trips to Killarney, Baron River & the Haliburton Highlands.
This position is PERSONALITY driven! The campers will feed off your energy, attitude and passion for the outdoors. We run a Wilderness First Aid training course for our instructors during pre-camp training. This is also a great time for the trippers to get to know one another, and learn about the trip program.
Salary for our Trip Staff is based on age and experience, which we can discuss over Zoom. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to e-mail Harley Hayman (harley@camptimberlane.ca) or fill out a staff application on our website.
Thank you for consideration. We look forward to hearing from you!
