Nestled in the beautiful Lawrence Park community, The Ivy offers children ages 4-14 an enriching and intentional summer experience. The cornerstone of our summer camp is traditional, but the depth of our program is far from ordinary. Our staff provide campers with the foundation for building skills, character and self-esteem. As a camp staff, you will build unbreakable bonds with both campers and co-staff, develop essential leadership skills and have a summer experience like none other.

Position:
We are currently recruiting Student Nurses to act in the position of First Aider.

Position Overview:
The Student Nurse is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in providing health care to campers and staff (wound care, sprains and strains, etc.) This position reports to the Senior Registered Nurse.

Essential Job Functions:
Under the direction of the Senior Registered Nurse, The Student Nurse will assist in providing health care and first aid services to meet the needs of staff and campers.

• Assist with daily medication management
• Help supervise and care for campers and staff entering the Health Center for care.
• Provide basic First Aid coverage as needed
• Provide direct care to staff within the scope of their skills, and treatment procedures
• Communicate with families of campers to provide health care updates
• Record and maintain a written chart for each camper appropriately

Qualifications:

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Currently enrolled in a Faculty of Nursing program
• Experience in first aid and emergency management services.
• Experience working at a summer camp is an asset.
