Sports Program Director – Canadian Adventure Camp

Canadian Adventure Camp is seeking a Sports Program Director to join our management team. Canadian Adventure Camp is a full-service children’s summer camp located on beautiful 160-acre Adventure Island in Temagami, Ontario!  We feature a full program of 35 great camp activities, including three specialty programs, with campers and staff from around the world!  Canadian Adventure Camp is the summer camp home to 150 boys and girls, aged 5 through 17 years.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Recruit, hire and onboard staff including certified coaches
  • Manage staff, develop training and provide feedback to maximize performance
  • Prepare budget estimates, and monitor revenues and expenses
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of staff and campers
  • Develop long range business plans
  • Develop and manage programs and services
  • Develop and negotiate business contracts
  • Direct and manage daily operations
  • Interact with potential clients to share program goals and make sales
  • Promote community engagement

Applicants should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Undergraduate University Degree in Sports and Recreation or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a youth sports and recreation setting at a leadership/management level
  • Experience working in a senior role at a camp or within the outdoor industry is essential
  • Technology/Computer – experience working with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Meet, Forms, Classroom); CampBrain Registration and Management System or a similar camp registration software; social media marketing
  • Criminal record check(CPIC); Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C

Work Setting

  • Private youth recreation facility (must be available to live and work onsite for part of the
  • Work from home options with an office base in Richmond Hill


  • $19 per hour. 40 hours per week
