Are you interested in spending your summer on a lake in Algonquin Park? Do you have a passion for sailing and the outdoors? If so, then you should come be a part of the Taylor Statten Camps staff team!
The Taylor Statten Camps are Canada’s oldest fourth generational family-run traditional summer camp. We are located on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park. The camp is made up of Camp Wapomeo for Girls and Camp Ahmek for Boys. Our camper’s age varies from 6 – 16.

Job description:
The Head of Sailing organizes sailing lessons and is also available when campers and staff choose to go sailing in their free time. The Head of Sailing must be comfortable rigging, operating, and instructing with 2 type of small sailboats- Zests, andLaser IIs in various intensities of wind. The Sailing staff at Wapomeo and Ahmek collaborate to organize and run the Roper Dayment Sailing Race in July and The Wilson in August. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The TSC sailing program is not an advanced program although there occasionally some advanced sailors on staff – it focuses primarily on beginners and intermediate sailors getting fun, safe experience on the water and learning about the basics of wind direction and safe sailing.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- Emergency First Aid or Equivalent and CPR “B”
- Pleasure Craft Operator’s License
- Bronze Cross or Equivalent
- CANSail 4 Certification is an asset
Compensation varies depending on age and experience. All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.
Dates of employment: June 18 – August 26, 2023 inclusive
