Program Manager

Adventureworks! is hiring a Program Manager to lead our facilitation team in the planning and delivery of adventure programs to school, youth, and community clients. The Program Manager will work at our Retreat and Learning Centre at Canterbury Hills in Ancaster, ON as well as at partner sites in the GTHA, and offer programming at schools. Most of our programs use High Ropes and Low Ropes courses to provide challenge and promote participant learning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build client relationships with School and Youth Program clients.

  • Program planning and preparation.

  • Support and supervision of Program staff.

  • Facilitate team building, leadership, and community development programs for schools and youth organizations.

  • Manage operational risks of programs including challenge course and rock climbing.

  • Work as a member of our Challenge Course Services team delivering training and other program support services from time to time.

  • Deliver programs at a variety of locations in Ontario including Hamilton and Halton region schools, The Retreat and Learning Centre at Canterbury Hills (Ancaster), Norval Outdoor School (Georgetown), Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area (Milton), and others.

  • Program Delivery 80%, Program Coordinating & Administration 20%

Experience / Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in outdoor recreation or a related field considered an asset.

  • Standard First Aid and CPR required.

  • Level 2 ACCT Challenge Course Practitioner Certification. Challenge Course Manager (CCM) an asset.

  • Current and clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector search (must be obtained prior to employment).

  • Transportation to Ancaster location.

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Adventureworks! Associates, Inc.

  • Depth knowledge of facilitating outdoor experiences with groups and a deep “bag of tricks” of group activities.

Dates / Work Hours

  • Programs take place during the weekday, evenings, and on weekends. Some programs may require you to stay overnight on the site of the program on occasion.

Hours & Pay

  • Full-Time Salaried Position.

  • Weekday, Weekend, Evening, & Overnight work may be required

  • $50,000 per year.

  • Facilitators must have reliable transportation to main office location in Ancaster, ON.
