Overnight Cabin Leader (OCL)
Salary: starts at $350/week (8.5 week contract, including staff training)
Start/Finish Date: June 28 – August 26, 2023

Canterbury Hills Camp is located in the heart of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. With over 60 years of camping history, Canterbury Hills has provided a place where forever memories are made. Children and youth have an opportunity to explore nature, creativity, and personal development through our unique program. Based on the philosophy of child-centered, unit based, and decentralization, campers at Canterbury Hills are able to tailor their own session with their unit, based on their needs and interests as they learn cooperation and leadership.
Overnight Cabin Leaders
- Work Sunday afternoon – Friday evening
- Provide daily care, supervision, and activity facilitation for campers ages 7-14
- Work in staff teams to oversee groups of 8-12 campers each week
- Provide mentorship and leadership opportunities to our Leaders-in-Training
- Enjoy an active, outdoor work environment
- Are provided with all meals, snacks, and onsite accommodation during the work term
All Overnight Cabin Leaders will:
- Have strong ability to work in a team environment
- Be able to support and encourage spiritual growth of campers
- Be able to relate well to a variety of ages
- Enjoy working with children and possess relevant soft skills in youth interaction
- Exhibit commitment to serving campers and staff as per the mission and values of Canterbury Hills Camp
- Welcome all and celebrate diversity within Canterbury Hills Camp
- Submit a Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to start of employment (if 18+ years old)
- Obtain Standard First Aid & CPR C Certification prior to start of employment
- Agree to the full term of employment and be available to work the appointed schedule
