Lifesaving Instructor / Lifeguard

About Wilvaken:

Spend a summer at Wilvaken – where everyone knows your name! We are an all-gender, bilingual (EN/FR), sleepaway summer camp in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

We believe in empowering youth to have a voice, and to learn about the world they live in.

Being a counsellor at Wilvaken means you get to know everyone at camp! Practice your French with our bilingual approach – we alternate between English and French on a regular basis. Our youth come from Quebec, Canada, and all around the world. We have a small community – about 100 campers per session, and therefore a small staff. Join our Wilvaken family this summer!

We are hiring a swim specialist to teach Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross. Your role will also include counsellor responsibilities, and other activity involvement. Lifesaving courses are taught as intensives over a 2-week period.

When you work as a counsellor, you run programs for youth ages 6-16. You have your own cabin group for one of your two months with us, and spend the day going to various activities. At Wilvaken, your schedule changes daily, so you’ll always have something new to do! Our bilingual programming requires competent English and French communication skills, so come practice a second language with us!

As a counsellor, you will be running some specialized activities, and you can develop more skills throughout the summer!
