Leader In Training Director

Bayview Glen is currently looking to hire a Leader in Training Director for the start of Summer 2023 to be a part of our Head Staff/Camp Leadership Team. This position reports directly to the Camp Director and is responsible for the direct supervision of camp specialty areas and the organization/implementation of our Leaders in Training program for youth ages 14/15.

Responsibilities and Duties
-Available to attend office hours and Head Staff weekend in the month of May until beginning of Camp in July.
-Connect with camp specialists to ensure the smooth operation of each activity area.
-Assists camp specialists in managing materials/supply lists.
-Ensure all program areas are providing campers with an immersive and fun experience.
-Communicate with specialty staff members when they are not meeting expectation as outlined during pre-camp training.
-Organize pre-camp training sessions/workshops for specialist group.
-Organize Leader in Training (LIT) program for youth ages 14 & 15 years-old including workshops and team building activities.
-Responsible for direct supervision of Leaders in Training throughout the camp day.
-Create LIT activity and cabin placement schedule for each week.
-Communicate with LIT’s if they are not meeting expectations when on a placement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have completed 2nd Year of University
- Standard First Aid Training and CPR- C or higher required (certified on or after September 2020).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with young adults in a leadership capacity an asset.
- As a condition of employment, a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check and First Aid certification will be required.
- Preference given to those that have experience in a camp setting
