Kitchen Staff – Cooks/Sous/Chef Managers

We are looking for experienced Chef Managers & Sous Chefs/Cooks needed to live and work at one of our summer camps located across Ontario with the majority of our camp locations in appealing, picturesque Muskoka.

  • Room and board is included as well as FREE access to camp activities & facilities in your spare time.
  • Compensation: Staring at $1200 per week and up depending on experience and location for Chef Managers & Starting at $900 per week for Sous Chefs/Cooks.

Qualifications for Chef Manager

  • You should be a passionate and dynamic cook, but have the leadership ability to lead, train and supervise students, while building a motivating working environment for a team of 5-14 kitchen staff.
  • Administration and inventory control, including measuring quantities and placing food orders, are also part of the Chef Manager’s responsibilities, requiring considerable organizational skills.
  • You are G.B.’s designated representative on camp, and as such is responsible for developing rapport and maintaining good relations to satisfy our clients’ needs.
  • Ideally, the Chef Manager possesses a Red Seal—or a minimum 3-5 years of similar experience is required—and previous large quantity cooking experience.
  • A minimum of 2 COVID-19 vaccines is required

Qualifications for Sous Chef/Cook

  • This position works alongside the Chef Manager on food preparation and production.
  • They assist with staff training and supervision – particularly on the Chef’s day off, when the Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operation.
  • Knowledge of homemade soups and sauces.
  • Excellent knife skills, supervisory skills and good work ethic are expected.
  • Enrollment in a culinary program and/or 2-3 years similar experience is required.
  • Large quantity cooking experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 COVID-19 vaccines is required.

This is a summer position only, starting in May/June to the end of August/early September. Perfect for people who work in ski resorts, schools, and colleges/universities during the rest of the year….or people who just enjoy the outdoors and new experiences.

Contract length: 2-3 months

Salary: $900.00-$1,200.00 per week
