Junior staff
Job Summary: ( 24 positions available)
Junior Staff are responsible for providing an exceptional camp experience for all campers while ensuring a safe and fun environment. As a facilitator of the camper experience, Junior Staff strive to raise self-esteem, while learning and practicing skills as a junior camp counsellor. The Junior Staff position is a counselling training opportunity. Junior Staff will be paired with a senior counsellor, and will directly work with campers aged 8-13. The Junior Staff position is a volunteer opportunity, and provides training and certification opportunities. Junior Staff are eligible to receive 650 volunteer hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Set up dining hall for meals, as assigned by Junior Staff Director.
• Serve meals, as assigned by Junior Staff Director.
• Clean up dining hall after meals, as assigned by Junior Staff Director.
• Supervise camper cabin clean up.
• Assist in monitoring and teaching all programs and clubs, as assigned.
• Professionally attend to all assignments and supervisory duties.
• Carry out any other responsibilities as designated by the Junior Staff Director.

• Participate in evaluation and clean up at the end of camp.

• Experience and/or desire to work with children in dynamic outdoor setting.
• Skilled at dealing with all children, including those who are challenging.

• Confidence in leading activities and groups.
