Job Title:           Horseback Riding Instructor

Reports to:       Land Staff Director and Program Director

Supervises:       Horseback Riding LIT’s and Participants

Job Goal / Summary: 

As a  Cedar Ridge Staff member, your primary concern is the physical and mental health well-being of campers. Cedar Ridge Camp is currently taking applications for the position of Horseback Instructor for our 2022 Summer Camp. The Horseback Instructor is responsible for safely teaching beginner to advanced Horseback Riding skills to campers.  The Horseback Instructor will be responsible for working with staff and LIT’s to ensure the safety and quality of all Horseback programs as a whole including but not limited to Trail Rides, Grooming, Inventory, and Maintenance.

Qualifications and Certificates:

  • Bronze Cross
  • Standard or Emergency First aid
  • Knowledge and experience with horseback riding
  • Mandatory training during pre-camp.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily horseback riding instruction
  • Taking care of the needs and overall health of the horses
  • Creative program design
  • Make sure barn and stalls are kept clean
  • Equipment care and maintenance
  • Uphold health and safety standards
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Cedar Ridge Staff Member

  •  Able to stay on feet and active for long periods of time
  • Able to pick up and move hay around the barn
