Healthcare Coordinator
ORGANIZATION
Camp Kirk empowers neurodiverse kids and youth to reach their potential through recreational programs. Within a small and nurturing community, our programs emphasize strengths so that participants can develop confidence, connection and community. Camp Kirk supports neurodiverse kids and youth, ages 6-17. The majority of our campers have learning disabilities, autism, and/or ADHD
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Healthcare Coordinator is the sole on-site health care provider. They will be responsible for:
- Addressing all cases of injury and/or illness
- Administering all camper medications and treatments
- Instituting preventative healthcare measures and educating the staff on health-related issues in the camp setting
- Supporting the implementation of Camp Kirk’s COVID safety plan. The Healthcare Coordinator will be responsible for conducting pre-screening and daily screening procedures and administering antigen testing.
Our aim is to hire an individual who is keen to be involved with all aspects of camp life. We are a small family-like camp and we hope that our Healthcare Coordinator will be an integral part of the staff.
CONTRACT DETAILS + COMPENSATION
The dates of employment run from June 18th – August 28th, 2023. Staff reside at camp in cabins with 3-4 other staff members. The compensation for the Healthcare Coordinator is $7,000 + room and board
REQUIREMENTS + EXPECTATIONS
- 19+ years old by June 2023
- Full COVID vaccination is mandatory for all staff members
- Minimum required experience: completing third year of healthcare-focused program (i.e. nursing, paramedic)
- Previous experience working with children is an asset
- Once hired, applicants must be willing to secure the following before their start date:
- Standard First Aid + CPR(C), or equivalent or higher certification
- Criminal Record Check
