Head of Ropes and Climbing
Contract dates: June 24th – August 30th, 2021
Location: Camp Kandalore – Algonquin Highlands, Ontario
Challenge Course Practitioner Level II
Experiences with top rope climbing and static courses, Challenge Course Practitioner Level 1 an asset.
NOTE: If the candidate does not currently have a Level II, Kandalore will help to find training and will offer a compensation program for the certification.
Manage Kandalore’s ropes programs including Challenge Course, Giant Swing, Climbing Wall and Rock Climbing Wall.
Support and manage staff at all ropes activities based on program needs and staff strengths.
Ensure staff are actively facilitating all activity periods (i.e. engagement of campers, skill development).
Ensure accurate record keeping for all ropes activities, including logbooks and camper achievements.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to ropes staff.
Write evaluations for staff and Leaders in Training every 2 weeks.
Provide aerial inspections for all ropes elements.
Continually seek ways to improve ropes activties by facilitating engaging programs with a focus on skill development.
Support other aspects of Kandalore’s program. (Tuck, Special Program, Leaders in Training)
Have an active presence in all aspects of camp life.
Participate in camp-wide events and actively create an inclusive environment for staff and campers.
