Camp Katonim, near Keswick, Ontario, is looking to employ energetic and enthusiastic staff who enjoy working with children between the ages of 4 and 16.
Established in 1932, Camp Katonim is a non-denominational summer day camp founded on Jewish values and traditions. Conveniently located less than an hour from Toronto, on the southernmost bay of Lake Simcoe in Roches Point, Camp Katonim provides an overnight experience for children ages 4 – 16 but in a day-camp setting. Our programming embraces extensive waterfront activities including waterskiing, swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing, combined with a multitude of land sports and creative arts activities. Our unique and exciting programs operates 9am-4pm daily for 8 week-long sessions, (Monday to Friday), beginning July 5, 2023. Director of Waterfront is expected to be available for Pre camp one week prior to the start of the first week of camp. The Director of Waterfront will be required to live on-site (private room) during the week and has each week end off , expected back at camp early Sunday evening.
The Director of Waterfront is primarily responsible for the safety of the Waterfront area whenever staff or campers are present at the lake. The Director of Waterfront is responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols are being met and followed to ensure the safest possible environment at all times. The Director of Waterfront is the key supervisor of the lakefront and its activities.
Applicants must be turning 19 years of age before December 31, 2023. Bronze Cross and NLS Waterfront required, Instructors preferred. Pleasure Craft License required. ORCKA certification or equivalent preferred.
