About Our Camp

Silver Lake is a traditional, overnight summer camp, situated on a 225 acre site overlooking a private lake, just outside Kincardine, ON. For more than 50 years, Silver Lake has been providing fun, caring and inspiring experiences for campers and staff alike. We offer programming for children ages 6-18, and host 60-70 campers per session. Our Mission at Silver Lake Camp is to share the joy of knowing Jesus Christ, making Christ central to all aspects of our programs, whether worship or play; seeking to set an example that embodies the value of personal faith in Christ, the importance of community, and commitment to God’s world.

Our staff team is the most important building block of each summer. As such, we seek staff who have a desire to facilitate meaningful and empowering experiences for children and youth; are enthusiastic, excited to try new things, and enjoy working outdoors; and are ready to grow their leadership capacity, all while sharing the love of Christ. About the Position: Counselor (female-identifying)

Position Overview: Silver Lake counselors work with a co-counselor to lead a group of 6-10 campers each week as they participate in the daily camp programming. Counselors act as a friend and role model as they supervise and support campers, ensuring each camper’s week is fun, safe and memorable. They stay in a cabin with the campers.

Dates of Employment: June 24, 2023 – August 28, 2023

Position requirements:

• Minimum 17 years of age (by Dec. 31 of the year of employment).
• Experience in and enjoy working with children.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Positive and flexible attitude.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification is desirable.
• Previous camp experience is an asset.
