Are you interested in spending your summer on a lake in Algonquin Park? Do you have a passion for the outdoors? If so, then you should come be a part of the Taylor Statten Camps staff team!
The Taylor Statten Camps are Canada’s oldest fourth generational family-run traditional summer camp. We are located on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park. The camp is made up of Camp Wapomeo for Girls and Camp Ahmek for Boys. Our camper’s age varies from 6 – 16.

Counsellors In Training (C.I.T.’s) must be 17 years old by the end of the calendar year. C.I.T.s must be keen to learn the art of being a camp counsellor, guide, and/or an activity head. Cabin C.I.T.s shadow counsellors and are assigned to a cabin group. You’ll be working with campers between the ages of 7 and 12. C.I.T.s with an interest in a particular program may spend a month shadowing the Activity Head of their choice. C.I.T.s at both camps also have the opportunity to help lead canoe trips. Paddling and canoeing tripping experience is an asset. A current Bronze Cross is required for this position as well as Emergency First Aid and CPR. C.I.Ts may have the opportunity to take a Wilderness First Aid course during pre-camp.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- Bronze Cross or Greater & CPR “B”- this is done at Camp!
- Emergency First Aid or Greater- this is done at Camp!
- turning age 17 in 2023
CIT spend the full two months at camp and earn an honorarium. All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.
