Fundraising and Communications Specialist

Rate: $ 15 /hr
Seasonal full-time position
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Work schedule may include weekdays and weekends/holidays as needed to support Special Events, Donor Stewardship, Social Media and other camp and fundraising events as necessary.
This position is made possible by funding from Canada Summer Jobs. To meet the funding criteria, the successful applicant must be between the ages of 18 to 30-year-old.
Successful applicants will be required to adhere to the Camp Quality Canada COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
Nature & Scope
Camp Quality’s fundraising program includes a diverse range of fundraising activities: signature and third-party events, corporate, foundation and individual giving. The Fundraising and Communications Specialist will be involved in summer event support and evaluation. Regional Camp Organizing Committees require administrative support to their fundraising activities that the successful candidate would be involved in. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years experience working in fundraising
- Previous experience in event planning
- Previous experience with social media design and scheduling
- Energy, enthusiasm and flexibility
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple work tasks
- Administrative and organizational skills
- Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools preferred
- Access to reliable transportation or a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Assist Camp Organizing Committees (COC) with administrative and varied fundraising support
- Participate in the creation of new resources to support COC’s.
- Procure in-kind activity supplies to support virtual and in-person camp programs.
- Support third party and signature event production, stewardship and recognition.
- Design and schedule social media posts highlighting fundraising events, donor support, camp activities and programs.
- Demonstrate positive interaction with community partners, donors, volunteers and Camp Organizing Committees involved with fundraising in order to build relationships.
- Understand, participate in and adhere to the Camp Quality Canada policies, procedures and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
