Instructor, Ropes-Challenge Course

Position:
A ropes-challenge course instructor, with experience-training to Level II.
Pathfinder has a first-quality high/low ropes challenge course, and actively programs all ages in ropes-challenge activity. Pathfinder seeks a Ropes Course instructor for our upcoming 2022 summer season.

Where:
Camp Pathfinder, est. 1914 is an island canoe camp in the heart of Algonquin Provincial Park.  We are located on Source Lake.
The camp accommodates 110 boys ages 7 – 16 each session, with a staff of 75 counsellors and guides.

When:
Full Season, June 24 – Aug. 20, 2022. Option for spring-fall dates.
Option for May-June spring and September-October fall outdoor ed. programming dates. Please inquire.

Job/Salary:
This is a full-time residential position, a senior position at Pathfinder, compensated accordingly.
Salary is determined by responsibility, age, qualification and experience.

Description:
Pathfinder Ropes-Challenge Course Staff are required to have the following minimum qualifications:

Completion of a professional instructors training course for challenge ropes course adventure programming (CUI Level I, II or higher), or have equivalent on-the-job training • At least one summer of experience working in a climbing / challenge course adventure program with youth • Demonstrated competencies in challenge ropes course skills such as technical, facilitation, program planning, safety management and rescue • First Aid and CPR • Preferred training: Challenge Course Practitioner Level II or equivalent training and certification.

All Challenge Ropes Course staff must adhere to the technical training standards of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (A.C.C.T), and Ontario T.S.S.A.

The successful candidate will provide a cover letter, resume, three references, arrange an in-person interview, and provide a criminal background check.
