Challenge Course Installers

Primary Responsibilities

  • Help fulfill client contracts by installing high and low ropes course elements and climbing walls across Canada.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the Challenge Course Services team

  • Prefabricate and prepare components for installation

  • Prefabricate and prepare portable props

  • Manage materials and tools for projects by: Tracking inventory; Ordering materials as required; Picking up orders as required; Caring for tools appropriately during use, storage, and transport

  • Maintain a safe work site by: Adhering to all company risk management policies; Taking responsibility for personal safety at all times; Wearing protective equipment as required; Ensuring the work site is secure and safe for visitors at all times

  • Aid in the maintenance of vehicles by: monitoring maintenance schedules, topping up fluids and gas, dropping off and picking up from maintenance appointments etc.

  • Opportunities for experienced candidates to work as a Challenge Course Trainer.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Commitment to the mission and goals of Adventureworks! Associates, Inc and willingness to work across the company as required

  • Experience in carpentry or construction preferred

  • Experience working in a ropes course or a climbing environment. ACCT Practitioner Certification (Level 1 or Level 2) preferred

  • Standard First Aid and CPR required. Wilderness Advanced First Aid or Wilderness First Responder preferred

  • Current and clear Criminal Background Check

  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License free from driving infractions

  • Physical fitness necessary to perform Installation tasks: able to climb poles/trees; able to lift and handle materials up to 75lbs; able to work outdoors in all weather

  • Ability to work at height in a harness for a long period of time

Responsible To

  • Direct report to the Director of Operations, Challenge Course Services

  • Responsible to members of the executive committee

Hours & Pay

  • Full-Time Contract Position for 3 months, with the possibility of extension

  • Compensation commensurate with skills and experience, range of $18.00 – $21.50 per hour

Locations & Travel

  • Installers must have reliable transportation to main office location in Ancaster, ON.

  • Installers will be required to travel and stay on location at job sites throughout Canada for weeks at a time. Adventureworks! will arrange and pay for all work related travel and accommodation.

  • Travel may constitute 25-50% of annual work, with peak season work loads requiring as much as 70% travel.
