Job Goal / Summary: 

As a  Cedar Ridge Staff member, your primary concern is the physical and mental health well-being of campers. The Canoe Instructor is responsible for safely teaching beginner to advanced Canoeing skills to campers. Cedar Ridge Camp is currently taking applications for the position of Canoe Instructor for our 2022 Summer Camp. The Canoe Instructor will be responsible for working with staff and LIT’s to ensure the safety and quality of all climbing programs including Overnight and day trips, Whitewater trips, Full camp games, Solo, and Tandem Canoeing as well as voyageur canoeing.

Qualifications and Certificates:  

  • Standard or Emergency First aid
  • Bronze Cross
  • Mandatory training during pre-camp
  • ORCKA canoeing instructor certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily canoeing instruction
  • Creative program design
  • Equipment care and maintenance
  • Uphold health and safety standards
  • Daily cleaning of the beach (lost & found & garbage)
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Cedar Ridge Staff Member

  •  Able to portage and move canoes on and off the racks.
  •  Able to be active for long periods of time.
