Reporting directly to the Director, Camp Programs, the Camp Office Staff are responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Camp Office, requiring both excellent customer service skills and unmatched trouble-shooting abilities.
WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB:
- Plan, organize, and assist in all aspects of camp office administration prior to summer, including purchasing supplies, planning, and subcommittee work
- Attend monthly Senior Staff meetings from December till April
- Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols
- Assist with all administrative duties of the Camp Office
- Provide reception services, including answering the camp’s main phone, receiving visitors, parents, and campers, and responding to general and camp email inquiries
- Preparation of weekly camp binders such as attendance and reports
- Coordinate with Camp Staff of weekly progress reports, birthday cards and evaluation
- Assists with on-going maintenance of camp manuals, including attendance procedures, for posting and cross-training purposes
Post Camp Review
- Debrief after Summer is completed
- Gather suggestions/ideas/improvements for the following season
- Create Lessons Learned/Best practices documentation
YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:
- Possess strong administrative frontline work experience
- Have Post-secondary education
- Have superior communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service experience
- Strong knowledge of word, excel and outlook and all Microsoft Office apps
- Have exceptional communication skills
- Camp database systems such as Camp Brain and Microsoft Access is preferred
- Strong multi-tasking abilities, trouble-shooting skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in accordance with daily challenges
- Have Standard First Aid Training and CPR- C or higher required (certified on or after September 2022
- Experience with Appleby Camps considered an asset
- Experience and knowledge within a summer camp environment is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a similar camp office administrator environment is considered an asset
- Make yourself available to attend the required training
- Evening of Friday May 31, 2024
- Full days June 1 & 2, 2024
- Set up day and Camp family BBQ Sat. June 15, 2024
- Training Sunday June 16, 2024
- Part-time pre-camp prep work to be completed from December 2023 includes:
- Monthly Evening Meetings Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, April (Exact date/time TBD) and Individual homework
- Full Time Contract May 1 – Aug. 30, 2024
- Leading sessions during Staff Training Weekends Friday June 1 & 2, & June 16, 2024
- Valid driver’s license is required
