Camp Nurse: Full Time – Summer Contract
Looking for a summer nursing position of a lifetime? Well, look no further!Camp Winston is a summer residential program for youth ages 7 to 17 with complex neurological disorders and behavioural challenges. The Camp Nurse position is part of the management team with primary functions to provide first aid care for campers and staff, to dispense medications to campers and staff, to coordinate visits to a physician, clinic or hospital when needed, to monitor health and cleanliness standards, to organize paperwork and maintain treatment and dispensing logs for everyone requiring service. It requires the incumbent to work with other senior staff members, the camp’s physician and other providers prior to the opening of camp to inventory supplies, to create an operating budget and to make recommendations on acquisitions of equipment and/or materials.
Due to Covid-19 the camp nurse will be required to abide by outlines provided by the OCA (Ontario Camps Association) and Public Health. The Camp Nurse is based at our summer site just north of Orillia. This is a live-in position. You will be able to experience the beauty of Muskoka up-close, based right next to Sparrow Lake. Work/personal experience with children with neurological disorders is an asset, but not required.
Work experience in a camp environment is an asset, but not required.
Covid-19 Vaccination (min double vax) with QR code presented.

We work daily with the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit to ensure that all our procedures follow the guidelines laid out by public health. Being an Ontario Camps Association accredited camp we also follow their health and safety rules/regulations.
