Camp Nurse, best place to be!
Keewaydin Camp seeks Camp Nurse (RPN or RN preferred)
Located on Lake Temagami, Ontario. Keewaydin was established in 1893 and is the oldest canoe tripping camp in North America. Our location is unique, a 50-acre island, centralized in a pristine wilderness setting. We are passionate about canoeing, camping, and kids learning to become GUTSTY, CONFIDENT, SELF-ASSURED people. Our camp community values good judgment, hard work, teamwork, and friendship. Our campers, ages 10-18, spend the majority of their time out canoeing and camping, with limited time at our base camp. Our staff are certified Wilderness First Responders and will, at times, consult and seek medical support over Satellite phone or in person. Check out our website or social media platforms to see what we are all about.
Responsibilities of our camp nurse would include organization of the infirmary, overseer of the camp medical plan, treatment of campers and staff as necessary, and has the availability to make recommendations to the director to seek medical assistance off the island.
This opportunity provides a nurse a place to enjoy a slower pace, a beautiful setting, a private cabin with screened porch and bath, access to docks, canoes, paddleboards, kayaks, and 3 meals a day in our dining hall. Our food is fantastic; home-cooked healthy meals, made from scratch every day. And let’s not forget the COFFEE! We have really good coffee (and tea)! Phone and Wifi internet is available to stay connected – if you want it!
The position is for 6 weeks, June 26-August 6, 2022 $1100/week
