Camp Tamakwa is a children’s overnight summer camp in Algonquin Park located 2.5 hours north of Toronto. Founded in 1936, Tamakwa is home to over 250 boys and girls aged 7-16. Our intimate camp size allows for small camper to staff ratios where campers feel supported in every aspect of daily camp life. Tamakwa prides itself on traditional values, camp spirit, safety and skill development.

We are hiring a Camp Journalist for summer 2023!

This fun and exciting role will be responsible for coordinating the creation of our camp newspaper, the South Tea Echo. The Journalist will assist in writing news articles, editing, interviewing and gathering information from campers/staff. They will help share all the incredible memories and stories of the summer! This will be a great opportunity for an individual with great attention to detail, love for reading, writing and storytelling. This role includes a competitive salary and full room and board.

Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education in Journalism an asset

Experience working with children an asset
