2021 CAMP CRICKET – SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY
SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELLORS
The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is a private social and multi-sport athletics Club in North Toronto. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our 2021 Summer Day Camp team!
Summer Camp Counsellors
Work within the various Summer Day Camps offered: Multi-Sport, Tiny Tot, Sports Stars, Science and Art programs for children 4-12 years of age. The regular camps run from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning mid-June and running until the beginning of September. These counsellors will be required from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early morning (8:00am-9:00am) or after-care (4:00pm-6:00pm) may be required.
Camp counsellors will also be required to work during special Club events such as Friday Fun Nights and Canada Day celebrations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise a group of children within a specific age range
Assist to plan and lead the various activities offered in the day camps
Provide a safe, enjoyable and educational camp experience for all campers and fellow staff
Represent the Club professionally at all times; be a positive, energetic role model for campers
Join campers and supervise in the swimming pool daily for instructional and recreational swimming
Provide regular feedback to the Camp Leaders and parents regarding any camper issues and needs
Assist in preparation for activities and clean-up at the end of the day
Participate in special events, dress-up days, athletic activities
Job Requirements
Be at least 16 years of age within the calendar year
Experience in planning, supervising and administering recreation programs for children
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and coordinate campers
Current CPR/First Aid certifications recommended
Responsible and organized with the ability to multi-task
High levels of initiative and enthusiasm with the confidence to work under minimal supervision as well as within a team environment
Flexible to adapt and lead during unexpected issues such as limited space, weather conditions or emergencies
High Five Certification is an asset, but not required
Previous camp experience is required
