Camp Counsellor

Welcome to The Ivy! 

Nestled in beautiful Lytton Park, The Ivy offers children ages 4-14 an enriching and intentional summer experience. The cornerstone of our summer camp is traditional, but the depth of our program is far from ordinary. Our staff provide campers with the foundation for building skills, character and self-esteem. As a camp staff, you will build unbreakable bonds with both campers and co-staff, develop essential leadership skills and have a summer experience like none other.


The Ivy is currently recruiting for the position of Camp Counsellor

Position Overview:
Counsellors are responsible for the facilitation of daily camp programming for a group of campers ranging from Pre-K to Grade 8. Counsellors play a large role in ensuring that each camper has a positive, worthwhile experience at camp. Counsellors need to be positive role models who are committed to working with young children. A warm, caring and involved counsellor will help make each camper’s summer and the overall group experience an enjoyable one.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Coordinate, conduct and supervise campers at all activities throughout the day 
  2. Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in the cabin, within activities and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes.
  3. Communicate with parents, unit heads and supervisors for camper updates.
  4. Ensure the safety of all camp members, their health and safety is your number one priority.
  5. Enter the swimming pool to help the swim staff and encourage your campers during both instructional and free swim.
  6. Be a role model for campers and staff.
  7. Participate in the development and implementation of camp activities. 
  8. Help facilitate interpersonal relationships between campers.
  9. Monitor campers to ensure their safety throughout the camp day.
  10. Organize and lead activities for campers.
  11. Provide individual support to each camper.
  12. Be punctual and arrive to camp and at all activities on time.
