Wanted: Boat Drivers

Are you interested in spending your summer on a lake in Algonquin Park? Do you have a passion for the outdoors? If so, then you should come be a part of the Taylor Statten Camps staff team!

The Taylor Statten Camps are Canada’s oldest fourth generational family-run traditional summer camp. We are located on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park. The camp is made up of Camp Wapomeo for Girls and Camp Ahmek for Boys. Our camper’s age varies from 6 – 16.

Boat / Barge Driver

Camp: Wapomeo

We are currently seeking two (2) Boat/Barge Drivers.

Job description:

As Wapomeo is located on two islands transportation is a major part of our summer. We rely on two ‘pontoon’ boats and some other smaller runabouts as well as 1 larger 30 foot barge to move campers and staff between the islands and the mainland. The Boat/Barge driver must be punctual by nature and keenly aware of safety protocol. It also helps if you already know how to tie basic knots, dock boats, and have some mechanical sense when operating the outboard motors.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

• Emergency First Aid or Equivalent and CPR “B”
• Pleasure Craft Operators License. (done online)
• SVOP license*
• MED A3*

*If you require assistance w/ attaining your SVOP license and MED A3, please indicate so on your application.

Compensation varies depending on age and experience.  All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.

Dates of employment: June 18 – August 24, 2023 inclusive
