OLYMPIA SPORTS CAMP 

Position : Assistant Heads of Programming / Don of the Box

Location: 2400 Limberlost Road, Huntsville, Ontario, P1H 2J6

Employment: Summer 2024

Reports to: Head of Programming

Overview of Olympia & Dons of Boxes

Olympia Sports Camp is a world-class, up-beat, dynamic and safe environment, where campers learn to participate and share in a community that focuses on positive energy and peer encouragement. This role will support the Head of Programming in all staff and camper programming capacities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of Staff and Camper Programs, including free time activities, evening programs, and hosting duties.
• Organize and execute Staff Programs on a regular basis (4 times a week).
• Integrate Weekly and Seasonal Themes into the camp’s activities and programs.
• Supervise the Box (counsellor lodging), including enforcing curfew and promoting Box Bonding and other evening staff programs.
• Handle conflict resolution among campers and staff.
• Collaborate with the Head of Programming to design and implement new programs and initiatives.
• Work with the Head of Programming to create Night/Weekend Staff Programs.
• Oversee the safety and care of sports and programming equipment and investments.
• Provide support for Free Time Sign-Up and introduce new programming ideas.
• Offer assistance to the driver, including serving as a secondary driver when needed.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in program design and implementation.
• A strong collaborator with creative ideas.
• Passion for camper and staff programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make others feel welcome.
• Effective time management skills and a track record of delivering results.
• Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR-C.
• Clean Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must possess a full G license.
