Camp Hurontario, a boys’ summer camp located on a beautiful island of the Georgian Bay, is looking to hire an art instructor to join us for the summer of 2024. Leave the city behind and spend the summer teaching your passion to boys aged 5-16 in groups no larger than eight at a time, always assisted by two experienced summer camp counsellors.
Hurontario draws from the Georgian Bay’s rich art history to deliver an immersive art program to our campers that just can’t be matched in a classroom environment. Gather up a range of mediums and paddle out into the bay with your group to sketch, paint or sculpt the stunning landscape and its unique features. On rainy days, take shelter in our art studio to help campers work on their projects, or head next door to the biology hut to take inspiration from the live animals housed inside. Guide each camper to apply his creative skills so he can be proud of the art project he will take home at the end of his time at camp.
We are looking for talented artists with skills in multiple mediums (watercolour, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, etc.) to share their passion with young children and inspire them to get creative.
Join our friendly co-ed staff of 110 to spend the summer making new friends and living with those who share your interest in working with children in a beautiful outdoor environment. Aside from your salary, full accommodation and all meals will be provided by the camp during the work term, which constitutes of June, July and August of 2024.
To apply, please attach or send a CV and cover letter to the camp’s email, addressed to David Freel.
