Activity Staff Member: Full Time – Summer Contract

Thank you for considering working for the Camp Winston Foundation and the children we serve. A summer season with us is an unforgettable and life-changing experience. We provide overnight summer camp experiences to youth aged 7 to 17 diagnosed with neurological disorders. In your time with us, you will learn about yourself, how to communicate, how to help those with lived-experience that is very different from your own, make friends that will last well into the great blue yonder, and you will have a meaningful impact as a coach and role-model for children who need you desperately. You will join a group of 70 staff as we embark on a bright and diverse adventure to help 140 children. You’ll be responsible for the total-care of 3-5 children at a time with staff teams of 5-6 members.

We offer a vast number of activities that our campers take part in throughout a day at camp. We look for individuals who can lead campers and their staff through the various activities listed below:

  • Swimming

  • Drama

  • Nature

  • High Ropes (camp will pay for qualifications)

  • Art

  • Sports

  • Canoe

  • Boat

  • Music

  • Tripping

Please indicate which activity you would be interested in leading.

We generally hire mature adults in post-secondary school, with a wide range of personal and professional passions. Kindness, humour, flexibility, and initiative are the core qualities of our counsellors. We are dedicated to the growth and maturity of our staff and are committed to the mental health and wellbeing of all those who join Camp Winston.
